This was from a month ago but I'm just catching up on e-mails now. I'd like to thank Dennis for sharing the news, and also give another tip of the birding hat to the memory of Carolyn Titus.
Regrettably I never met Carolyn in person, but I appreciated her many contributions to this list in its early years. She found a lot of good birds, and she was good at sharing her knowledge and what she found.
Nevada is such a big state. As the saying goes, the distances in Basin & Range country seem to stretch even longer from north to south, than from east to west. So there are lots of you whom I've never met, in my forays into the northern part of the state. But there's a remarkably good birding community, spread across all of those miles. And Carolyn was a big part of building that.

Yesterday I got word that Carolyn Titus from Las Vegas passed away last Sunday . Carolyn was an active state as well as a world birder. Her Nevada list of 440 species was the highest state list for many years. Carolyn was also active in the Red Rock Audubon Society for many years. Dennis Serdehely
