There were some exciting changes to the Chadron State Park banding station this week. From 9/13-9/15 the station ran normally from the Sawmill shelter, but as of 9/16 the banding station has been moved to a different location in the park! With more dense vegetation and a flowing creek, the new site has already given us more birds and more diversity!! Here are this weeks totals, including the last of the Sawmill shelter numbers and the newest Creek location numbers:
The station will be open this week Tuesday through Saturday (weather permitting) and is now located at the Campground trailhead across from the tennis court in Chadron State Park! This is an exciting time to come visit the brand new location and see what birds we will be banding there! Anyone is welcome to stop by at any time while the nets are open from 6:25am-12:25pm (weather permitting) , hope to see you there!
