Weather: Mostly sunny becoming overcast for the afternoon. Light to moderate northeast winds that weakened in the afternoon.
Raptor Observations: A light to moderate flight throughout the day, with a peak in the afternoon then a sudden drop in activity as the overcast skies got thicker. Sharp-shinned Hawks were most numerous with 27, followed by kestrels with 20. Seven each of Osprey and Cooper's Hawk. One Peregrine Falcon.
Non-raptor Observations: 77 Canada Geese, Ruby-throated Hummingbird, 6 Northern Flickers, 2 Common Ravens, American Redstart, 71 monarchs. https://ebird.org/checklist/S395047055
Predictions: TOMORROW: Light rain early then cloudy with afternoon showers. High 63F. Winds NE at 10-15mph. Expect minimal migration. Count will likely be shortened.
WEDNESDAY: Cloudy. Slight chance of a rain shower. High 66F. Winds NE at 10-20mph. A favorable wind and fairly strong. Perhaps that will be enough to get some birds moving even if the sky is gloomy.
