Subject: [sbcobirding] Birder behaviour at Elings
First off, many thanks and congrats to Peter Gaede for finding the Elings
Sprague's Pipit. It's only the third mainland SBA county record, and the
first since 1987. And the flyover Pinyon Jays were a fantastic bonus.

Birders, especially those with big cameras, often get a bad rap for their
behaviour at rarity sites. The birders assembled at Elings today, at least
whilst I was there, demonstrated impeccable behaviour. The bird was not
pushed, folks kept a respectful distance, and at no time was the bird
flushed. Well done, SBA birders!
