Hi folks, besides the female Evening Grosbeak, we also had several hundred
more Clark’s Nutcrackers, about a dozen Cassin’s Finches, one Lewis’s
Woodpecker, a Mountain Chickadee, and a handful of Red-breasted Nuthatches.
The only White-breasted Nuthatch was the standard Pacific variety. Other
migrants included a handful of Audubon’s Warblers, more than a dozen Vaux’s
Swifts, my first of the fall Ruby-crowned Kinglet, one each Wilson’s
Warbler, Warbling Vireo, Western Wood-Pewee, and Olive-sided Flycatcher.
Many birders were present, most of whom were probably hoping to see Pinyon
Jay. I haven’t heard that any were seen. ☹️
