Each year we try to count until we hit zero to determine the duration of the migration season. After a final one hour vigil, finally that day came today, fully 11 days after I called the season over on August 8. Since that "end" we added almost another 1,000 nighthawks to the season total.
The final is count is just 135 short of 8,000. Many thanks to all who heped out, we'll see you next year.
