Visitors: 113 (39 engaged). This morning we met a hiker by the trail name SideQuest. SideQuest is currently working his way down the Eastern Continental Trail from Northern Canada all the way to Key West. We wish SideQuest happy trails and had a great time chatting with him. Rick also enjoyed some great chats with Nan today, who we were also very happy to get a chance to connect with about raptors and more. A fantastic day at Bake Oven Knob filled with many great visitors, many of whom got some amazing looks at low flying hawks today. Weather: Mostly cloudy to overcast conditions dominated the count, with cloud cover generally 80-100% (briefly dropping to around 20�35% late morning). Temperatures remained mild in the mid-60s to low 70s �F, with visibility generally 30�35 miles. Winds were mostly NE to E, generally light to moderate at about 0-10 mph.
Non-raptor Observations: Hummingbird activity appeared to halt today. Mantis observed, Tussock Moth Caterpillar observed.
Predictions: Showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 2pm. High near 72. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%.
