When I left a while after Nancy it had moved up onto the front edge of the first ridge of dunes. There are two white signs as far as I remember. I think they are both sesitive habitat signs. It was north of the northern sign a little ways. It moved around quite a bit this morning. When I first saw it (others were already on it) when I got there after 9:00 a.m., it was in between the two dune ridges. It can be very well camouflaged, especially if facing away. It moves a lot differently than the other Plovers. Very slow and deliberate most of the time. Most of the time it was by itself, as Robert mentioned..

The beach cleaner pushed the plover towards us and it finally flushed down to the waters edge. People walking on the beach flushed it twice more. Each time it moved a bit further south. Last I saw it, it was among numerous sanderlings and snowy plovers roosting among all the tire tracks. The position is south of where the pin drops have been, and was in front of the white sign. Walking out I see there are many of those white signs, so that may not be helpful. But only 100 yards south of the other pin drops.
