Laban Wenger just a short while ago sent me several photos of a Louisiana Waterthrush that he found at the Borrego Springs settling ponds. Now also seen and photographed by Bob Theriault. It's on the south pond, the only pond with water. Certainly would be easier to see there than the darn sneaky bird at Solana Beach!
In other news, today, I had two common terns at the East end of Lower Otay Lake, where very rare Inland in the county. There was common tern and Bairds Sandpiper on pond 22 at the Salt Works this morning. Yesterday there was a Mountain Chickadee at Jacumba, which is east of normal, and which may portend a movement of chickadees perhaps this season upcoming into the lowlands.
