Another moderate day, with 40 birds banded. We've never had a season quite
like this one, but this is the time when, even is a big year, things start
to settle down......Wilson's Warblers, always our dominate species, are
slowing down. (We have caught more of them this year than any prior year,
which drove the unusual 100+ bird days we've experienced.) Today was a mix
of insect and seed eaters:
Red-breasted Nuthatch 1
Northern House Wren 1
Gray Catbird 1
Brown Thrasher 1 (FOS, and likely only one we will catch!)
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 2
Orange-crowned Warbler 3
Yellow-rumped Warbler, Audubon's 2
Townsend's Warbler 1
Wilson's Warbler 18
Green-tailed Towhee 2
Lincoln's Sparrow 1
White-crowned Sparrow, Gambel's 4
White-crowned Sparrow, Mountain 2
Dark-eyed Junco, Oregon 1
