Twenty-one birders joined me for an interesting bird walk at Pickering Ponds trails in Rochester. Birding has been rather slow at Pickering so expectations were not high, but the weather became gorgeous and the birds started to appear. The best bird was probably a Yellow-billed Cuckoo during the walk's home stretch (maybe 2-went in opposite directions, so only one was located and photographed). A Philadelphia Vireo vireo also was seen and photographed and provided a life bird for some. A varied list of 50 species provided the final tally for the walk.
