Subject: [ia-bird] More Broad-winged Hawks for Marshall Co!
At 10 am I was about 30 minutes SW of Grammer Grove “as the crow flies”. I
was at Hendrickson Marsh on the border of Story and Marshall co. I
witnessed 2 large groups of at least 100 Broad-winged Hawks each get up and
kettle about a mile east of my position. I assume they were coming down
Clear Creek. A few stragglers continued to show up after that. I was not
expecting to see that many hawks since I was not along a major river
system. Pretty cool!
