- Comments: "*Continuing. I was able to locate this bird rather easily on the maintenance road (35.111869, -120.626950) today as it frequently gave the distinct loud metallic “chink” calls of this species. It was much closer to the road today than the last time I had it here and I was able to eventually locate it down low in the willow understory as it moved between branches. This was a large plump warbler that was mostly a dark olive-brown color on the back, wings, rump, and short tail. The bill was short, thin, and dark and the eye was dark as well. It had a well defined pale buff supercillium that extended far beyond the eye and contrasted sharply with the olive-brown cap and postocular stripe and lores. Much of the throat, face, and underparts were all a similar buffy pale color but were strongly and extensively streaked olive-brown. My view of the legs and feet was brief and suggested that they were dull, but I was not sure whether they were dull flesh-colored or brighter pinkish. I was able to see however that this individual pumped and bobbed its lower body incessantly, similar to the foraging behavior of, say, Solitary Sandpiper. Overall my views of this bird were mediocre, brief, and mostly obscured as it was shy and stayed down low and deep in the willows. They were, however, at a reasonably close distance. I was not able to get photos of this bird unfortunately, but I got a recording which will be added."

Three in the native garden, one on the peninsula, and one on the Norswing Drive trail north of the main entrance. All very dull olive OCWAs with large bills, greener upper and paler lower eye arcs, large-headed and slight hooded appearance, streaked breast, faint vested appearance, and extensive dusky olive-streaked undertail coverts. Several heard giving the distinctly thick metallic chip call of this subspecies/type. Photos of a few tba at some point."

About three (perhaps between three to five?) ranging widely in the vicinity of the peninsula and the native garden and two more at the Redstart nesting location along the Norswing drive trail. Very dull OCWAs with large lengthy bills, greener upper and paler lower eye arcs, a large-headed and faint-hooded appearance, streaky breast, a faint vested appearance, and extensively dusky olive streaked undertail coverts. At least two or maybe even three heard giving the thick metallic chip calls typical of this subspecies/type. Photos of several tba at some point."

HY male first found by Mitch Siemens on the maintenance road. Warbler with a pale throat and underparts except for yellow/orange patches on the sides of the breast, dull greenish back, dark legs and feet, no wingbars, yellow base to wing coverts, and yellow base to outer rectricies. Dark lores, more orangey-yellow breast patches, and what appeared to be darker uppertail coverts indicates HY male over female. Fanning tail frequently. May have heard this bird giving a few high-pitched “tink” calls, but not sure. Photos tba at some point."
