Subject: [sbcobirding] More on pines
Similar to Florence, I thought I’d check some local pine stands to see what was about. Unfortunately, the Cambridge pines is now the Cambridge pine. There’s really only one standing in the open space. The pines at San Pedro Creek and Cathedral Oaks are in better shape, but no montane species were there. I also looked at the pines at the Tarragona Open Space on San Marcos Road; good cone crop but no birds.
