Visitors: 77 visitors. Lots of folks popping in to see some hawks! Many hikers and sightseers stopped by to chat about raptors throughout the day.
Weather: A nice September day with temps geting to 20C by the afternoon, light westerly breeze, and variable cloud cover. Conditions a bit hazy, but not too bad.
Raptor Observations: A trickle of raptors throughout the day with two nice little pulses. Toward the end of the day it seemed like things were slowing down, when our biggest movement of broad-wings for the day flew through, with 107 birds.
Non-raptor Observations: 1 Common Loon, 5 Double-crested Cormorants, and 1 Tree Swallow were other birds on the move today. A few Golden-crowned Kinglets, juncos, Yellow-rumped Warblers, and several warbler sp. around the hawkwatch throughout the day. Lots of dragonflies flitting about.
Monarchs: 27/456 Ruby-throated Hummingbirds: 1/64
Predictions: With the little pulse we had late in the day, it's possible there could be some birds moving in the morning, but by mid-afternoon rain is forecast to move in which should shut down most raptor movement.
