Subject: [CT Birds] Coastal Center
9/16 Milford, Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center. 10am-1PM. low
tide-rising, overcast, 70-74F.
Several visitors today enjoying our exhibits and the marsh and birds. We
had a "Naturalist" class here today learning about our wildlife, the beach
and the marsh.
On the marsh: 7 Great Egrets, 4 Snowy Egrets, 2 Mute swans, 8 D.C.
Cormorants, 8 mallards, 5 American Black ducks, 2 Yellow crowned night
herons-young ones, 1 Great Blue Heron, 1 Osprey flyover.
On the grounds & feeders: 3 Blue Jays, 2 Mourning doves, 1 Mockingbird, 6
House sparrows and a Goldfinch at the water fountain, 2 very vocal
Carolina wrens, and 1 Ruby throated hummingbird buzzed by.
