This morning on the north side of the park, accessed from the 15th Street gate by the tennis courts, I observed a Dusky Orange-crowned Warbler (sordida ssp. that nests on the Channel Islands) working the thickets behind the blue house. This is probably a returning individual; one was observed here throughout fall and early winter of 25-26. A first fall male Rose-breasted Grosbeak was in the same area and seemed to be making its way toward one of the backyard feeders.
I continue to see House Finches in the park showing symptoms of Avian Pox. If you put out feeders or water for birds please step up the cleanings.
