A perky little Red-breasted Nuthatch stopped by our fountain this afternoon. While historically considered regular in the county in Sept. it has been over 2 years since I have reported one visiting our yard. Reading recently about the large number of Clark's Nutcrackers passing through at higher elevations nearby maybe this will turn out be a good year for more wintering montane species in SLO. 🤞
