Observation start time: 07:30:00 Observation end time: 17:00:00 Total observation time: 9.5 hours
Official Counter: Kate McKay
Observers: Alan Bostick, Amy Maurer, Annamarie Saenger, Chuck Carlson, Dot Currier, Henry Walters, John Welch, Judd Nathan, Katrina Fenton, Mike Gebo, Phil Brown, Sy Montgomery, Tom Delaney, Tom Momeyer
Visitors: 131 including a group from Peterborough Elementary School and some homeschoolers.
Weather: Mostly blue sky with a stiff northwest wind. Temps ranging from 48 to 55 degrees.
Raptor Observations: The strong winds once again appeared to dampen activity. A few birds flew high, some birds flew low, and a lot of birds flew in-between. We had nice views of some close adult broad-wings. There were no kettles to speak of.
Non-raptor Observations: A late Chimney Swift flew over and a Common Nighthawk went by just after 2pm. Warblers included a male American Redstart and a couple of Black-throated Green Warblers.
Monarchs: 75/327 Ruby-throated Hummingbirds: 2/59
Predictions: Southerly wind direction but the winds are light and the broad-wings are eager. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Kate McKay (<northernjay444...>) Pack Monadnock Raptor Migration Observatory information may be found at: www.harriscenter.org
