Weather: 62-71 degrees F, bluebird skies all day. Very strong NNW wind with gusts up to 22 mph.
Our low broad-winged count today was probably because almost all the birds we had, especially our only 2 big kettles, were traveling due south, not using the ridge very much at all - as were some eagles and ospreys. Decent falcon movement early petered out by late morning.
Big thanks to Ed for cutting new owl poles today - it only took 15 minutes for our makeshift paper bag decoy to bring in a peregrine!
Non-raptor Observations: Some warbler sp. and goldfinch movement this morning. Wind kept most of the songbirds down today, but we picked up a magnolia and blackburnian.
