Southwest winds are not the most favorable for birds migrating south. A couple Wilson's warblers banded a few days ago returned to get their energetic condition assessed again. Both Wilson's gained weight since they were last banded. Thirteen bird species were captured with two new species for the season including Ruby-crowned Kinglet and Plumbeous Vireo. It appears that there are quite a few Townsend's Warblers hangin around Colorado this fall season. A couple birders came by the banding station and showed us a Vermilion Flycatcher they saw at HQ pond. Always a pleasure to see what others are seeing on the ranch. *31 New Banded Birds* Wilson's Warbler- 17 Yellow Warbler- 1 MacGillivray's Warbler- 2 Ruby-crowned Kinglet- 1 Red-breasted Nuthatch- 1 Western Wood-Pewee- 1 Hammond's flycatcher- 1 Dusky Flycatcher-1 Cassin's Vireo- 2 Plumbeous Vireo- 1 Gambel's White-crowned Sparrow- 2 Yellow-breasted Chat- 1
