Subject: [Tweeters] Turkey Vulture report
This morning when driving into Gorst from Port Orchard there was a growing kettle of Turkey Vultures over Gorst. We were able to pull into the parking area of the public storage facility on Hwy 3 between Hwy 16 and Hwy 3 northbound.
The kettle grew from 10 to 14 vultures. We watched for a few minutes but no more TV's appeared. We headed south on Hwy 3 to Belfair but none of the vultures were seen in Belfair after we got groceries. The vultures in Gorst appeared to come up from the area of Old Belfair Hwy, about a quarter mile north of Hwy 3 and may have been in trees in Jarstad Park. There's also a basalt quarry just a bit farther north they might have overnighted in.

Hopefully those vulture watchers farther south in the Sound area will be visited soon by this flock.

Happy Birding
