Find the water and you'll find the birds. Pretty easy formula that seems to be working well in the otherwise DRY San Luis Valley. Yesterday at Home Lake, which has the water and the habitat, there was a bounty of interesting and unusual birds. Among the warblers, there were hundreds of Wilsons Warblers with a few MacGillivrays and others. At least two Townsend's Warblers were present. Other unusuals included Black Phoebe and Green Heron. Definitely a bird banquet and nourishment for the soul.
