The nutcracker show continues with over 500 seen this morning. the first birds did not show until just around 8 AM, despite the watch effort starting at sunrise. Not much else of note around the peak.
Driving west from the peak about 9.30, I saw a jay fly over the road and perch in a yucca. Thinking I should probably check it out, I stopped and was estatic to see it was a Pinyon Jay as it took off and flew up the slope.
