Just a note to the group that on REAL maps there is no such place as Russ
Bright Park.
Sue Bierman was an activist and politician who did a lot of work for SF,
including helping to stop the construction of a freeway through the
panhandle. She was honored by having a park named for her, one that was
reclaimed from demolished freeway ramps, and that also seems to be a draw
for unusual bird species. It seems appropriate to continue to honor her,
rather than supplanting her name with that of a white male birder.
