Today we led a group hike up to the watch, a great day for many first-time
hawk watchers!
We had many volunteers also present observing today at the hawk watch, so
thank you to everyone who came out to observe today!

Weather:
Low clouds were present early in the count, with visibility initially
around 15 miles before improving to about 20 miles. Temperatures rose from
around 60�F to the mid-70s, while winds shifted from E/ESE to SE/S and
became increasingly gusty through the day. Light rain moved through from
about 3:00�3:30 PM, briefly reducing visibility to around 10-15 miles,
before clearing out and leaving mostly cloudy conditions afterward.

Raptor Observations:
Bald Eagle Times: 10:49a, 13:02a. 11:42i, 12:14i, 12:20i, 12:25i, 3:42i.
11:38u.

1 non migrating merlin, 4 non migrating Bald Eagles (2 before noon, 2
immature at 2:10). "Non Migrating" is used to indicate that the observed
raptor was either active hunting or observed heading northward.

Non-raptor Observations:
23 Ravens, 2 Ruby Throated Hummingbirds, 62 Cedar Waxwings, 1 Loon, 1
unidentified tern.

Predictions:
Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 10am, then a slight
chance of showers between 10am and 11am. Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise,
cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 82.
Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of
precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half
of an inch possible.
