https://ebird.org/checklist/S392166781 A Red-headed Woodpecker is in the Collins Lake area this morning. I just posted to eBird: I saw its black wings with huge white underspots first. Then it flew right across the backyard out in the open before landing on the trunk of a maple. Leaves obscured its body, but I saw its full red head and neck with my naked eyes, then bins. It pounded a while on the trunk, then stopped. Heading to Collins Lake (?), a block from my house.
