Weather: Mostly clear and sunny with a light wind from the WNW. Temperature started at fifty degrees and reached the low sixties at the end of the day.
Raptor Observations: Nearly 600 raptors flew across the sky today. Steady flow of birds throughout the morning hours with activity slowing down to a trickle once it became afternoon. One kettle of 33 broad-wings. Nice diversity of raptors overall with a total of 10 different species.
Non-raptor Observations: Nice diversity of other birds too including a distant Double-crested Cormorant flying towards the east, a close Black-and-white Warbler eating a caterpillar, a vocal Yellow-bellied Sapsucker visiting nearby, and an agile Common Nighthawk flying by during the 2 o'clock hour. A butterfly highlight was an Eastern Tailed-Blue.
Monarchs: 36/219 Ruby-throated Hummingbirds: 4/57
