From 08:30 to 09:00, we had at least 50 Clark's Nutcrackers fly by at La Cumbre Peak.8 to 10, then 24 (+?), then 20, then the 2-3 that landed in the pines, calling.Flybys were fast.A couple landed in pines and began feeding in cones, but a Cooper's Hawk came in and harassed them. One Nutcracker stayed close to the trunk and continued feeding. As the Cooper's Hawk buzzed around, a Merlin and a Red-tail came in too.But they just seemed to circle a bit and leave. The Cooper's Hawk seemed more intent on harassment than hunting.
