One of my favorite fall banding locations in Oct/Nov is at Ann Hanscom's private property in Uxbridge where hundreds of birders over the years have enjoyed along with me the passion Ann put into creating sections of the property for butterflies, birds resulting in capturing 100's of birds each fall - some days we are capturing so many birds that we shut nets down or just extract & release when flocks suddenly hit the nets. Mixed among these hundreds of captures are volumes of finches, juncos, many sparrows like Swamp & Wht-thr, late warblers like Yellow-rumped, N Waterthrush, Orange-cr, nice mixture of thrushes, woodpeckers like Sapsuckers, even a Yellow-br Chat for 3 days, etc This private historic property on 215 Hazel St has 28 acres of woods, barn & pasture for horses, marsh, gardens, stream with still trout plus a lovely house build in 1739 where Ann & John lived for many years. Unfortunately, John unexpectedly passed away recently, and Ann conveyed to me that her hope is that a family with a passion for the birds and wildlife would be interested in purchasing the house & property as the house and property would be more than 1 person can deal with. So I am passing Ann's wishes along that if someone would love to live in a quiet, lovely town on a historic property groomed for wildlife & wildflowers, this is very rare special opportunity. If this amazing property is of interest, contact <a_J_hanscom...> for more information. Goal is to keep this lovely, peaceful property in the hands of folks who would appreciate an historic house, beautiful gardens, lawns, sections of the lawn groomed for butterflies & finches, woods with owls/hawks - if you are interested in having horses, all set up for them.
