About a dozen birders gathered this morning to bird at Lindsay-Parsons Biodiversity Preserve. Yellow-throated Vireos were heard singing from multiple places all morning, but alas, no definitive sightings. Walking down the recently mowed Big Meadow to the beaver ponds, we spied a Great Blue Heron and several Wood Ducks in the distance, along with Cedar Waxwings and European Starlings. A few small passerines made quiet calls here and there and were only seen briefly and/or backlit, mostly unidentified, except for a semi-cooperative flycatcher (Empid or Pewee? - see photo <https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=10245499777126797&<set...>). Circling back to Coleman Lake, covered in a uniform green layer of duckweed, a Green Heron hunted close while a Great Blue Heron sat a little farther back, with a good number of Wood Ducks littered around both sides of the berm. For breakfast we drove up to Morning Moon in Newfield, next to the covered bridge.
