Subject: [NHBirds] 0 Common Nighthawks - Franklin Falls - Season Wrap-Up
Rain cancelled tonight's count, making this a good time to call an end to the 2026 season.  A few more may pass tomorrow but not enough to move the dial much.
This season's count included 4 zero counts between 18 and 22 August, a new world record, all on account of steady NW winds.  The daily high count was an unremarkable 1,493 on 30 August.  75% of all birds passed during the 6 day period of 26 through 31 August.
The state-wide single day high count was in Keene on 26 August with 2.390 birds.
The regional season high-count goes to Westminister Station, VT, across the Connecticut River from Walpole with over 24,000!
Here are the season totals for the 4 years at Franklin Falls:
2023 - 12,6262024 -  9,7602025 -  6,1112026 -  7,004
