Visitors: Dena Stauffer helped with the watch today. She has great eyes! Todd and Diane Miller from Chester County stopped up on a cycle to take in the views. They are camping past Mount Union.
Weather: Overall a warm and sunny day with winds from the S and SW all day from 3-5MPH with some gusts up to 8MPH. Clouds in the sky helped with the view of raptors.
Raptor Observations: First bird, BW at 8:25. A steady flow of BW all day until 3:00. Birds were either singles or up to 12 in a group. No large kettles....yet! Eagles: I-9:39, M-9:52, A-10:57, I-12:57, I-2:01.
Non-raptor Observations: Jen noted a BV with no tail feathers at all. Nemo and friend were around most of the day. Cedar Waxwings, Catbird, Carolina Wren, Swallows, Northern Flicker, Blue Jays, Lantern flies. MOst birds were relatively close to the south side of the ridge and a decent height to be seen with the naked eye. Jen and I stayed until 5:00 (bird time) hoping to see a large group of BW come through.
