Subject: [slocobirding] cooling rural residential habitat for birds
I know all you NoCo peeps would be in the know, but is there any mechanical way of cooling down a garden area for songbirds? it's 101 in Nipomo at noon, just went out to hose down my shade shrubbery in hope of giving birds a little relief. I have 9 water dishes/baths on my acre lot plus many young live oaks , but of course the water is hot too, birds are gaping and not moving much. I ran the rainbird over the Prunus hedge for 5 minutes to wet the leaf litter.  Any tricks for bird relief? Temp supposed to cool down around 10 pm. THX
