At around 1100 hrs, we saw a flock of Clark's nutcrackers flying low over the pines east to west. We counted the birds as they flew over. I saw approximately 20 but Jim had the best viewing position along the road and counted 34, 1x1. Relatively tight flock, no lingering birds that we could find. No calls were heard during this short observation period. We drove west along the road in the direction they were flying but could not relocate them. ID: Medium-sized birds with gray bodies, contrasting black wings. From below the tails and undertail coverts with white with a contrasting stripe of black down the center."
