Subject: [cobirds] Chico Basin Ranch Banding Station Report-Bird Conservancy of the Rockies-September 8, 2026
A northerly wind produced some birds to drop into the olive grove this
morning. Seventeen bird species captured and banded with two new species
for the season: Vesper Sparrow and Ovenbird. I did not hear if any birders
were down at HQ pond but I would guess it was a good day down there for
birds as well.
A conservation ecology class visited the banding station today and were
able to view a wide variety of birds. They asked lots of good questions.
Nice to see people interested in birds and ecology.
