We weren't expecting much activity this morning, but during this time of year, you never know what might show up.
Around 8:20am, there was a noticeable increase in normal bird activity - chickadees, titmouse, cardinals, house finches - going to and from the feeders. But then 5-6 very active warblers showed up for about 15 minutes.
Migrants we identified included:
Cape May Warbler - a 1st for our yard. I will note that a Cape May Warbler was recently reported near St Joseph, MO
Bay-breasted Warbler, several
Black-throated Green Warbler
Warbling or Philadelphia Vireo
Yesterday, we had 4 juvenile Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, 3 males and 1 female. We’ve also seen several Summer Tanagers the last few days.
