Weather: Hazy blue skies with scattered, evanescent clouds. Wind NW 3-5 mph early, increasing to 5-12 mph, then diminishing slightly. Temperature 66-74 F.
Raptor Observations: The first stirrings of a true flight, with 49 Broad-wings trickling through singly or in small groups. Just as I was about to despair of ever seeing even one falcon, two male Kestrels swept in together just after 3:30 EDT. Not counted as migrants: Black Vulture, 2 Turkey Vultures, 2 Bald Eagles (adult and immature), Cooper's Hawk, Red-shouldered Hawk, Red-tailed Hawk.
Non-raptor Observations: Very quiet on the Hill today; not a single warbler seen or heard. Mourning Dove,COMMON NIGHTHAWK, Northern Flicker, Red-eyed Vireo, Blue Jay, American Crow, Tree Swallow, Black-capped Chickadee, House Wren, 2 Cedar Waxwings, Purple Finch, 2 Goldfinches.
