Hi Dave, that’s the most ever osprey I’ve ever heard of locally, probably concentrating at the abundant food location on migration. This morning there was also one at Goleta beach.
i saw 6 active nests within a quarter mile on the shelter island, Long Island, ny  causeway in July. Some on poles in roadside parking lots! Reading more today about ospreys there I read there were around 200 active nests in 2025 at or near shelter island.
