Hi all,
There is a near-adult Nazca Booby on the #2 buoy just off Angels Gate. No
need to argue about species ID. Our captain tells us it has been hanging
out on this buoy for 2 weeks now, so it seems to be consistent.

You can charter a boat to go out and see it. One option is
socalwhalewatching.com -- easily within range of a 2 hour charter, and they
know where the bird is. You can also take your chances on a big whale
watching boat, but they seem less and less keen on stopping for birds these
days (this is the same buoy that hosted a couple of boobies many years ago
that Harbor Breeze regularly stopped at by birder request -- I don't think
they do that any more).
