N.Y. County -in N.Y. City- including Manhattan, Randalls, Governors, and Roosevelt islands, on Saturday, September 5th -
For starters, there were at least 25 species of migratory warblers in Central Park alone on Saturday - as found by many, many observers and photographers thru all of that park, not just one sector and not just in a very limited span of time. At Randalls Island at least 22 species of warblers were found on Saturday, with a high diversity of other migrant birds also noted there, as was so in general throughout the county. Governors Island had a minimum of 20 species of warblers on Saturday and a Dickcissel was also ongoing at Governors. Bobolinks were noted from all over the county, mainly by those keen to hear, and to see them, including some on diurnal morning flight, which included Manhattan, and included Central Park therein.
Far more of migrant birds of many kinds were seen thru the county besides the limited variety noted above.
Thanks to hundreds of independent observers and photographers for sightings, alerts, reports and hot tips.
