Do you like birds? Do you like maps?? Do you like birds AND maps???
I took a stab at generating my own county maps based on eBird data. I went ahead and did it for all US states, not just the Carolinas. You can see the results here:
They are color-coded by year (not just decade) and there is also a version showing every report as a red dot. This is based on eBird data up to June 2026. I could update these periodically. If you think they can be improved somehow, let me know.
(The full-size images for some states are still processing & uploading as I write this email, but NC and SC are fully complete. All states should be done within the next hour or so.)
