Subject: [MBBIRDS] BELTED KINGFISHER off of West Cliff this morning |
Hello! I was thrilled to see the BELTED KINGFISHER again, hunting off the
cliffs near West Cliff and Auburn streets in Santa Cruz this morning.
It flew up and hovered, like a kite, numerous times, finally catching and
consuming a small fish.
It's such a fun bird to watch with its little mohawk head crest and
markings on its chest. I believe it is a female. I hope it sticks around!
