Subject: [cobirds] Chico Basin Ranch Banding Station Report-Bird Conservancy of The Rockies- September 3, 2026
Another quiet day, some migrants were observed by birders but not captured.
A Black-and-white Warbler was north of banding station high in Cottonwood.
Western tanagers and Curved-billed Thrasher were to the west eating olive
fruits. The recaptures were not in as good of condition with all but one
Wilson's Warbler lost a couple tenths of gram.
*24 New Banded Birds*
Wilson's Warbler- 10
Orange-crowned Warbler- 3
MacGillivray's Warbler-1
N. House Wren- 2
Western Wood-Pewee- 1
Warbling Vireo- 1- keyed out to an Eastern by bill measurements
American Goldfinch- 1
Lincoln's Sparrow- 1
Cassin's Vireo-1
Brown Thrasher- 2
American Robin- 1

*4 Recaptures- banded during this season and captured a different day*
Swainson's Thrush
Wilson's Warbler- 3

The Banding Station will be open tomorrow through Saturday from sunrise
until @11:30AM.
