I birded Russ Bright Park at lunch today and had some good looks at migrants like Western Tanager, Wilson's Warbler, Yellow Warblers and a Red-breasted Nuthatch.
I'm sure some of you have been following this closely, but I wanted everyone to know that a notice was posted that tree removals will begin *on or after September 14* for the park renovation project. They are removing 97 of 113 trees and work will last about 5 weeks. They will be replanting new trees (and new species) next year to match the number of trees there currently. All of the work is going to happen east of Drumm Street. The hilly portion west of Drumm is going to be unaffected.
