COBirders, We now have 22 teams signed up for the COBC on Saturday who will be birding in 19 Colorado counties. This is a great effort and I am hoping that there are still a few of you on the sidelines waiting to jump on the field!
Participating in the COBC is easy and fun! Here's a quick step-by-step for getting started.
1. Make the decision to join in the fun! 2. Visit https://charity.pledgeit.org/2026COBC and click REGISTER 3. Select the appropriate registration. For one of the four competitive categories, select team captain as either a CFO member or nonmember, or you can select Bird Your Own Way for our open category. 4. Next, enter your species and fundraising goals -- no wrong answers here! -- and then scroll down to select one of the five categories and the county you will bird in and agree to the waiver, then click Add Ticket 5. Then you'll be guided through the account setup process and you're done!
The five categories include four competitive options: The Challenge, The Green Challenge (no motorized travel), The Under-25 Challenge and new this year, The Big Sit (birding from a single location). There is also a non-competitive category, Bird Your Own Way that, like the name implies, has neither rules nor prizes :)
Every participant will select a team name and be assigned a Team Fundraiser Page. You can share the link to this page with your friends, family and on social media to receive support in the form of a one-time donation or a pledge for an amount for each species of bird you or your team identifies on Saturday.
As an added bonus, *EVERY DONATION RECEIVED WILL BE DOUBLED* until we reach $10,000 thanks to a very generous gift from a CFO member!
I hope you will decide to join us on Saturday for a fun birding adventure that will also benefit CFO's programs and conservation efforts plus generate useful eBird data detailing the status and distribution of birds in Colorado!
Good birding,
Peter Burke CFO Board of Directors
