I have seen this in the spring more often than now. I have had house finches going to the grape jelly feeder all season. Thankfully, the yellow jackets did not find it until yesterday. I’m still getting some Orioles, but I think I’m just going to quit putting it out.

I see this fairly often, including at my own feeders. I have captured several Downy Woodpeckers in my hummingbird trap while banding hummingbirds (under federal and state permits). I have also caught Baltimore Orioles this way, as might be expected. And once, a Tennessee Warbler.

This Downy has been visiting my Hummingbird feeder all summer along with the Hummingbirds and occasional Oriole. I guess he got used to coming here for the winter suet feeding.
