IA-bird members,
There has been a recent increase in phishing email attacks particularly from a source purported to be from Blue Mountain E-cards. I would strongly advise against clicking any links or content in these messages even though they may come from a trusted sender you recognize from the listserv.
The listserv admins are able to stop many messages like this from ever reaching the group via the built in moderation tools of the listserv, but as our group is open to the public it's inevitable that one or two may occasionally slip through. There are lots of resources online if you would like to read more about how to recognize and protect yourself from phishing attacks, I will not be including a clickable link to any but a quick Google search shows many good resources at the top of the search results.
One last housekeeping item, if the email you use to interact with the listserv gets compromised or "hacked" often the quickest way to stop any continued unwanted email traffic on the listserv is to temporarily pause that user's ability to send emails to the group. Once you have changed your passwords/re-secured your email account it's easy to turn that back on, one of us will reach out to you directly if this is the case.
