It is the last day of August and we had a few *early* fall migrants still meandering through. An Oriole and Cassin's Kingbird were calling early this morning. Black- headed Grosbeaks, Canyon Towhee and Lincoln's Sparrow were the first of the season banded today. Many of the species we banded today, were not heard or seen. *40 New Banded Birds* Wilson's Warbler- 8 MacGillivray's Warbler- 2 Orange-crowned Warbler- 3 Yellow Warbler- 1 Townsend's Warbler- 3 Dusky Flycatcher- 3 Western Wood-Pewee- 6 N. House Wren- 3 Lincoln's Sparrow- 1 Yellow-breasted Chat- 1 Western Tanager- 1 Canyon Towhee- 1 Black-headed Grosbeak - 2 Brown Thrasher- 2 Red-winged Blackbird- 3
*1 Return- banded last spring as an adult male* N. House Wren- bird is at least 3 years old
