Just had Evening Grosbeaks come in, a new yard bird. Yay. Saw them first, as they flew over… the white wing patches were backlit and evident. They disappeared, but I turned on the Merlin and sure enough, first bird it heard. Managed to get binoculars on them a few minutes later, and have been hearing them on and off for a few hours now.
